Annual General Meeting
The 2021 KCMS AGM was held on Thursday 16 September, where we had 34 attendees including the Mayor of the City of Stirling. This was followed by the usual sausage sizzle, thanks to Nic the Chef.
The AGM was chaired by 2020-2021 President Peter Polain, who opened the meeting, and then gave his President's report.
Welcome and thank you for all attending and a special welcome to our Mayor, Mark Irwin.
I would like to start by introducing your Committee Members
• Vice President – Jeff Crookes
• Secretary – Terry Sheard
• Treasurer – Tony Strickland
• Others – Deane Palmer, Ross Daniel, Jeff Greaney and Boy Gillis.

President’s Report for 2020-2021.
The year to June 30 was a year of consolidation during which:
• We maintained membership around 80 but this has increased slightly since June 30.
• We encouraged members to take on income producing projects which help maintain a sound financial position for the Shed. There have been numerous, and several Members have been involved. Some notable projects have been the ice cream carts for Brightwater and the bat and owl boxes for the Friends of Lake Gwelup.
• Jeff Greaney set up our bottle and can recycling program which raises almost $1000 a year for the shed.
• Deane Palmer and Terry Fuller have put in a lot of work to improve the presentation of our website including featuring projects and products.
• Several members have worked to generally make the shed a better place to be. These include access to more equipment and better layout as well as tidier storage of timber.
• Terry Sheard and Jeff Crookes organised a sausage sizzle at Bunnings which raised some $1500 for the shed. We will be doing that again in October and hope that we get lots of volunteers to help out on the day.
• We also received a grant of $15,000 from the State Government Election Commitment Fund.
It is also worth noting events since June 30.
• Additional electrical work has been done, specifically a power outlet here in the leanto area and an exhaust fan in the craft room.
• The oven and rangehood have been installed in the crib room along with a pantry and soon a drawer cabinet.
• Our bore was completed early this week and additional reticulation will soon be installed. This will reduce our reliance on scheme water and therefore our cost of water.
I must compliment you all on the way you interact with each other and your consideration towards each other. It is very pleasing to see such harmony within the group. The shed could not operate without the support of all our members. You all contribute in various ways but we are particularly reliant on our Shed Supervisors to provide support and guidance. Our thanks go to them all.
Finally, I would like our Member Services Committee Member, Jeff Crookes, to present the “Shedder of the Year” award.
The award was presented to Ron Parker.
